Ever since I was little, I knew i was different from the other girls. Throughout high school I wore it all; backwards pants like Kris Kross, vintage sweaters, turquoise blue pleather bell-bottoms… taking fashion risks or chopping all my hair off. I didn’t give two fucks. All just another killer fashion day in the life of Mel.
I owned and managed multiple hair salons for over a decade, as well as being a professional makeup artist which allowed me to travelled the globe educating hairdressers on the art of makeup.
Then, all of a sudden, a huge change came. I decided to embrace it and leave every single thing I knew as my reality. My Business, my home, my husband, and my city. I am eternally grateful for the Universe in guiding me in my new direction.
August 2016 I was gifted a sewing machine for my 37th birthday and, with a little help from YouTube, I taught myself to sew. I eat, sleep, and breathe design. From the second I wake up until the moment I enter Dreamland, my mind is racing with creative concepts. All the years of absolute chaos, insane work hours, uncomfortable outfits and undue stress that no woman should have to feel, came to fruition when I invented SIMPŁE.
